DroneControl Launch: Smarter Reporting and Easier Team & Fleet Management

We’re pleased to announce a major new DroneControl release, bringing together our new Reporting functionality, enhanced administration tools, and the ability to archive team members and hardware.

The focus of this release is simple: giving organisations better visibility over their drone operations while making it easier to manage teams and fleets as they grow.

Introducing DroneControl Reports

Our new Reporting functionality turns the operational data already captured within DroneControl into clear, actionable management information.

Reports can be generated ad hoc whenever you need them, or configured as automated weekly or monthly reports, helping operations managers maintain regular oversight without manually pulling together data from different parts of the platform.

Reporting is fully customisable. Administrators can select:

• The entire organisation, specific pilots or groups of pilots

• The complete fleet or selected drones

• The reporting period

• The information and sections they want included

• Custom questions and reporting requirements

  
  

Sections and default data can also be removed, allowing each organisation to build reports around the information that actually matters to them.

From Flight Data to Operational Insight

A DroneControl report can bring together information from across your operation into a single downloadable document.

For example, our sample report automatically provides an executive overview covering flight numbers, total flight hours, active pilots, critical incidents, pilot licence status and hardware issues.

Go deeper and the same report can provide a mission-type breakdown, showing how the fleet has been used across activities such as training, search and rescue, fire, traffic incidents and crowd overwatch.

Individual pilot activity can also be analysed, including the number of flights and total flight hours for each selected pilot.

Fleet, Maintenance and Compliance Reporting

Reporting goes beyond flight activity.

DroneControl can provide an overview of your active drones and other hardware, highlighting reported and unresolved issues across drones, ground control stations, batteries and payloads.

Upcoming maintenance can also be included, with equipment, due dates and remaining days clearly identified, alongside upcoming pilot licence expiries.

For organisations operating larger fleets, this creates a much faster way to identify where attention is required.

Reports can additionally surface incidents and risk flags, compliance and audit-readiness information, and suggested management actions. In the sample report, DroneControl identifies overdue maintenance and inspections and then translates these into specific actions for the relevant hardware.

The result is more than a data export: it is designed to give managers a clear picture of what happened, what needs attention and what action should be taken next.

Automated Reporting

Once you've created the report structure that works for your organisation, DroneControl can do the ongoing work for you.

Reports can be scheduled to generate automatically weekly or monthly, helping managers maintain regular oversight of operational activity, fleet condition and compliance. Administrators can also be notified when reports are generated.

And when something specific is required — for an audit, management meeting, operational review or customer request — an ad hoc report can be created at any time.

Archive Team Members & Hardware

Managing changes across your team and fleet is now easier. Administrators can archive both team members and hardware when they are no longer active, while preserving the historical records associated with them. Archived team members remain visible to administrators and can be unarchived when required; if they log in, their access is restricted to their own historical flight logs rather than the wider organisation portal or team. Similarly, drones and other hardware can be archived when they are sold, retired, replaced or no longer operational, keeping your active fleet clean while maintaining historical traceability. Archived hardware remains identifiable throughout relevant areas of the portal and can be unarchived at any time.

More Administration Control

We've also expanded administrator controls within the platform.

Admins can now edit a team member's flight-log name and delete files belonging to individual team members or the wider team, giving organisations greater control over how their operational records and files are managed.

For a small drone team, understanding what is happening across an operation can be relatively straightforward. As organisations scale to tens or hundreds of pilots, aircraft, batteries, payloads and ground control stations, that becomes significantly more difficult.
