On June 23, 2025, DroneControl was deployed in a challenging search and rescue operation in Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua, Mexico. The mission centered around locating a missing man with mental health issues in his mid-30s, last seen near his horse stables before vanishing into nearby forest terrain. Complicating the search were adverse weather conditions - heavy rain and difficult backcountry visibility.

Local first responders from Bomberos Col Swift initiated the rescue operation with a structured Incident Action Plan, quickly establishing a command center in a strategic location. Thanks to DroneControl’s advanced live-streaming capabilities, responders were able to launch their DJI M300 and transmit real-time aerial footage directly to the command center - despite the rugged landscape.
As the mission progressed, the team extended their search into the forest using a UTV. With the help of an Anker Power Bank powering Starlink connectivity, responders maintained a stable drone video feed, allowing for continuous situational awareness from the ground to the command center.

By the end of the second day, the team successfully located the missing individual - alive and in stable condition.
"We’ve been working closely with Eduardo and his team for several months, and it was incredibly rewarding to see these highly trained first responders using our system in a real-world mission – ultimately helping to save a vulnerable life in distress”— Thomas Ingold, CEO of DroneControl

This operation highlights how drone technology and real-time connectivity are reshaping search and rescue efforts. With mobile command systems, autonomous flight, and resilient communication tools, first responders can now access critical information faster and operate more effectively - even in the most remote environments.
“Without the use of DroneControl, this operation would not have yielded such a positive outcome.”— Fire Chief Eduardo Krahn, Bomberos Col Swift
