Bringing secure drone operations directly into the ATAK ecosystem
DroneControl is delighted to announce the official release of our native ATAK integration, bringing together secure enterprise drone operations and the world's leading tactical situational awareness platform in a single, seamless solution.
Following months of development and operational testing alongside public safety and tactical users, DroneControl's Flight Application now enables operators and incident commanders to receive encrypted live video, telemetry and operational data directly within ATAK, eliminating the need to switch between multiple applications during critical missions.
One application. One workflow.
Traditionally, drone operators using ATAK have had to move between different applications increasing complexity and reducing situational awareness during time-critical operations.
DroneControl removes this barrier by integrating the entire workflow into a single application.
Our native ATAK integration allows operators to plan, fly and manage drone operations while simultaneously sharing live intelligence directly into the ATAK environment.

The result is a faster, simpler and more intuitive operational workflow that keeps pilots focused on the mission rather than managing multiple applications.
Key capabilities
The DroneControl Flight Application now offers:
Full TAK connectivity within a single application
Ultra-low latency, encrypted live video streaming via WebRTC
Full remote control of DJI Enterprise drones directly within ATAK
Live aircraft telemetry and system status
Real-time geolocation of points of interest, integrated with MGRS, postal addresses and what3words
Collaborative pin drop and marker sharing between DroneControl and ATAK, with marker categorisation to improve situational awareness and enable teams to build a shared operational picture in real time
Enterprise-grade drone, pilot and fleet management

By combining these capabilities, DroneControl provides incident commanders with real-time operational awareness while maintaining secure communications throughout the mission.
Built for operational environments
The integration has been designed specifically for organisations operating in demanding environments, including:
Police services
Fire and rescue services
Search and rescue organisations
Civil protection agencies
Critical national infrastructure operators
Defence and dual-use organisations
Whether supporting a missing person search, wildfire response, critical infrastructure inspection or tactical operation, DroneControl enables live intelligence to flow directly into the ATAK common operating picture.

More than an ATAK plugin
While the ATAK integration is a major milestone, it represents only one component of the wider DroneControl ecosystem.
Unlike traditional flight applications, DroneControl combines tactical drone operations with enterprise management capabilities, including:
Pilot and team management
Fleet and maintenance management
Automated flight logging and compliance
Secure cloud or on-premise deployment
Live Operations Centre
Secure remote viewing and collaboration
Operational reporting and audit trails
This allows organisations to manage the complete drone lifecycle—from planning and flight execution through to compliance, reporting and post-mission review—all within a single platform.

Designed for the future
The release of our native ATAK integration is another important milestone in DroneControl's mission to build the most complete drone software ecosystem for public safety.
Our roadmap continues with additional capabilities, including enhanced interoperability, expanded platform support, AI-powered visual object detection, autonomous operations and deeper integrations with command-and-control systems.
Available now
The DroneControl ATAK Plugin is now available via the Google Play Store, with the latest releases also available directly from the DroneControl website.
This integration has been made possible through a close collaboration between the DroneControl team and our partners at TAK Hub. We'd like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone at TAK Hub for their collaboration, technical expertise and operational feedback throughout the project. Working together has enabled us to deliver a solution that we believe represents a significant step forward in drone integration within the ATAK ecosystem.
We would also like to thank our operational users and the wider ATAK community for their valuable feedback during development. Their real-world testing and input have helped shape a solution designed for the demands of public safety and tactical operations.
If your organisation would like to see the platform in action, we'd be delighted to arrange a live demonstration and discuss how DroneControl can support your operational requirements.
One platform. One workflow. Complete operational awareness.
