DroneControl Partners with Heliguy to Provide Advanced Drone Software Solutions for UK Network Rail

DroneControl, a leading provider of specialized software solutions for public safety organizations, and heliguy the UK’s leading Drone Solution Provider, are thrilled to announce a groundbreaking partnership to offer secure live streaming and remote-control capabilities to the UK Network Rail.

"We are extremely proud to partner with heliguy and UK Network Rail, marking a pivotal moment in how technology can revolutionize public safety and infrastructure management," said Thomas Ingold, CEO of DroneControl. "Our FirstResponder software is not just a tool; it's an ecosystem designed to protect lives and assets by providing real-time information and remote control. This partnership represents an affirmation of our mission to make public spaces safer and more efficient through the use of advanced drone technology."

This collaboration aims to significantly improve incident response times and protect lives, while optimizing asset management and maintenance for Network Rail’s Western Route within the safety task force alongside drone operators.

Enhanced Capabilities for Public Safety and Asset Management

Through the integration of DroneControl FirstResponder's software, UK Network Rail aims to improve efficiency and safety in two key areas:

1. Emergency Response: The software enables live drone feeds to be streamed directly to route control centers, providing real-time information in case of incidents on the track. This enhances situational awareness and accelerates decision-making, thereby enabling a quicker and more effective emergency response.

2. Asset Engineering: DroneControl's software will support live inspections by sharing live feed and remote-control capabilities to asset engineering teams and route asset managers. This not only saves time but also reduces the risks associated with manual inspections.

Ruairi Hardman, Business Development Manager at heliguy™, said: "It is great to see Network Rail utilising DroneControl FirstResponder. While the platform was primarily built for public safety, it is proving itself to have very tangible benefits for critical infrastructure in terms of inspection and emergency response.”"By integrating DroneControl into its risk management architecture and asset inspection ecosystem, Network Rail will benefit from real-time data collection and remote information sharing to enhance workflows, increase efficiency and further improve safety."

Liam Barrington from Network Rail commented “We have been testing DroneControl FirstResponder for the last few months and are delighted to enter this initial partnership. We have tried multiple different solutions in the past for live streaming which have all failed to meet our need and DroneControl has delivered. We see the solution as a major part of our drone operation moving forward. We are really excited about the innovation they have coming up

The aim of this initial partnership is to pave the way for a full roll out across the entire UK Network Rail drone operation.
