DroneControl recently had the privilege of supporting the Feuerwehr Stadt Luzern service during a complex recovery operation following the crash of a light aircraft in Lake Lucerne.

The aircraft, a single-engine plane, was forced to make an emergency water landing near Bürgenstock earlier this summer. Thankfully, the two people on board were rescued quickly and remained unharmed. The aircraft, however, sank to a depth of around 100 metres, requiring a coordinated multi agency recovery effort.

Our secure live-streaming feature enabled the drone team to share real-time aerial footage simultaneously with the on-site commander and media partners, ensuring situational awareness, smooth coordination, and transparent communication throughout the operation.
We worked closely with Joel and Dani, part of the highly skilled drone team at Feuerwehr Stadt Luzern, to tailor our support to their operational needs. Their expertise and professionalism were key to the success of the mission, and we are proud to stand alongside such an experienced and knowledgeable partner.

Just as important to us as showcasing our technology is the feedback loop we establish with our partners. Joel and Dani provided constructive insights on how we could make DroneControl even better. These suggestions are already being incorporated into our product roadmap — ensuring that our solutions continue to evolve in line with the needs of real-world emergency services.

At DroneControl, we are honoured that our technology plays a role in such critical incident management scenarios. Our mission remains clear: to deliver secure, reliable, and customer-focused solutions that empower drone teams across public safety and emergency response to succeed in their vital work.
